I've never heard this expression. If you said this it would confuse most people. Are you thinking about the idiom to 'save the day'? For example, if you had a plan that was about to go wrong, and someone stopped it going wrong - by coming up with a solution or giving you some kind of help - you could say 'He saved the day'.
