The AE sensor can be placed at any place near any of the two bearing as the fault components frequencies will be correctly measured at any location near the bearing. The optimization of the location of the AE sensor is not a common technique and will not change the results of the study. It might only decrease the transmission loss for all signals proportionally and hence the results will remain the same without change. It was made sure that the transmission loss is within an acceptable range before the conduct of the experiment.
