I know United Kingdom, and for this i can advice you to say ''sorry'' before any question about city and shop information. Besides, you must say ''excuse me'' when you unawares touch any part of person's body, you have to excuse for a little mistake, so you avoid problems.
Anyway, when you ask a question, remember put at first the verb ''can'' (or ''could'' if a situation is too formal) and at the end the word ''please'', that comes looks like next the comma during your oral sentence.
In the spanish, instead, remember ''Perdoname si te molesto, puedes decirme por favor...''
