And don't forget to join a proper Chinese class with a proper textbook and a qualified teacher. That is the only way to learn .

If you want to say "a few fish", you can use 几条鱼/几只鱼. 条 is the counter for fish. you can also use 只 as the counter for animals etc. 几 is like "a few", "some", "how many" meaning.

You could say 幾「隻」魚or 幾「條」魚 to express "a few fish". In my opinion, '几条' may be a little complicated. It's also often used when you want to ask a question. For example, 'How many fish are there in the tank?/鱼缸里还有几(多少)条鱼？'
