Do you think the way we reading books will be different in the future? In a foreseeable future, I guess that we might begin to see a significant drop in the number of books and even book shelves, cause they are predicted to be replaced by e-books thank to the advances in technology. This small portable device is so convenient that a person will be able to buy, read and store books without going to the book shop or library. At the same time, human beings will experience an era reading book without reading due to the development of speaking novels. For instance, I was quite shock when I witnessed my uncle’s 4 years old daughter use an ipad. The special thing was that she had no clue of reading, “ e-dragon episode 21” was the only thing she did and the whole story was read by the devices.

I don't know how it has been working out, but in 2009, a private high school in Massachusetts, Cushing Academy, announced plans to replace all of the books in its library with ebooks. "Update to Parents dated September 10, 2009, the headmaster states that the library's printed books will be replaced over a two-year period." I haven't heard of other libraries doing the same thing, but it's an indication of where things might be headed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cushing_Academy

It is sad but probably true that books will be replaced by e-books and speaking novels. But now comes the question will there come a day where it is no longer a necessity to read? Will children not learn to read but instead be read to by speaking novels. It will not happen to all children but there definitely will be a group that will not learn to read in the future.
