What's the difference between 度 and 回? I know that you say 「もう一度言ってください」 and 「週二回」, but since in English both words both translate to "time(s)", in which context should I use 「度」 vs. 「回」 to express "how many times"?

Additional information about 回 and 度. 回 - times This counter is for counting indefinite "times", whether it be doing something once, or one hundred times. When 回 can only be used... 1. With prefixes “第”(dai) and “全”(zen=total) Ex: “第3回 〇〇 会議” (The Third 〇〇 Conference) 2. With decimal figure Ex: “2.5 回” 3. With “~回分” Ex: “2回分の料金” (The cost for 2 times} 度 - degrees, times This counter can count two things: occurrences (one time, two times, three times), and degrees. Usually 度 is only used for up to three occurrences. If you want to go beyond 3度, then you will want to use 回 instead. When 度 can only be used... 1. In specific idioms and proverbs Ex: “二度あることは三度ある” (What happens twice will happen three times.) 2. There is a semi-"pattern" involving 二度 which you might find useful to know (or which allows something in your brain to click, linking the expression to the counter) Ex: “二度と許さない”(I never forgive you.) “二度とこないで!”(Don’t come again! or Never come back!) Of course the verb that comes after can be a different one, but this will be the expression most people will have heard at least once while enjoying Japanese cinematographic material.

Ciao Enrico, it is a very nice question. For "how many times.." question, I think that "回" might be safer to use. There are some cases only one of these can be used, but I do not know exactly why. Following Expressions in parenthesis are wrong. 0回、1回、1回半、2回 (0度)、1度、(1.5度、1度半)、2度 前回、今回、次回 (前度)、今度、(次度) Looking at these, for which we can count clearly, we would be able to use "回" or something we actually repeat. What is more important, 今回 and 今度 are correct itself, but they are not the same. For example, では、また今度お会いしましょう。 OK では、また今回お会いしましょう。 NG Actually, 今度(こんど)is as same as 次回. But この度 means the same as 今回. It is not very easy? I wish it helps.
