Help with admission exam exercise Hello! I'm taking the admission exam to coleage next Saturday, and I received a "model test". The thing is, even I understand the words, I don't understand what I have to do. If someone be so kind to gice me an example I really appreciate it. 1) Use the words from the list below to form a new one that best fits the space. FILM CRITICS AND JUDGES The (1).......................... was made that the British Academy of Film and Television had awarded the prize for the Best TV Drama Series to something called Prime Suspect. Immediately, four out of the seven members of the jury (2).................................... They said they had in fact voted for a rival series, (3)......................tittle... GBH. By and large, the British are not terribly good at advanced mathematics, but this is (4).................................... (the story continue but I cut it) 1) announce 2) agree 3) title 4) ridicule 5) festive 6) compete 7) preside 8) reason 9) outrage 10) scandal

I think they want you to change the words on the bottom into different forms and use them in the sentences. For instance: The (1)announcement .......................... was made that the British Academy of Film and Television had awarded the prize for the Best TV Drama Series to something called Prime Suspect. Immediately, four out of the seven members of the jury (2)disagreed.................................... They said they had in fact voted for a rival series, (3)entitled......................... GBH. By and large, the British are not terribly good at advanced mathematics, but this is (4)ridiculous!.................................... (the story continue but I cut it)

Your test is hard by the way! announcement, disagreed, entitled, ridiculous

I think you have to change the form or the tense e.g. 1 is Announcement. 2 disagreed . 3 its title is. 4 could be ridicules, ridiculously... depending on the rest of the sentence. good luck with your exam :)

Yes, you would need to change the form/tense of the related words. Please note that the correct form for number 3 would be titled. Example: They said they had in fact voted for a rival series, (3)......titled GBH. 1.) announcement 2.) disagreed 3.) titled 4.) ridiculous Please advise if you have any other examples that need clarification.
