What does "a spot of gardening" mean ?
I read the following dialogue on BBC Learning English. Could you please tell me the meaning of a spot of gardening?
Neil
: What did you do at the weekend, Sophie?
Sophie:
I did a spot of gardening.

It means 'I did a little bit of gardening.' 'A spot of...' means a small amount.
