What's the difference between 맛이 맵다 and 맛이 아리다?

맵다 = spicy
아리다 = tingling, stinging, or burning feeling.
When describing taste:
맛이 매워요 = The taste is spicy.
맛이 아려요 = The taste is strong (pungent).
