Questions about ser/estar abandonado(a)s, please explain in English!
Why one to choose here? son-están? I know the difference when using ser and estar, and still I was wrong on this one, cuz the answer that I wrote is different from what the book said.
However, in this sentence "La casa de mis abuelos, donde nació mi padre, está-es abandonada desde hace años." My book said it's está, I am guessing cuz there is a specific time frame here"desde hace años"?
Thanks in advance!

i had to investigate for answer this, the answer is some philosophy.
Estoy/estas/está/estamos/estan= it is used for refer to location or a condition of the object or subject
Soy/eres/es/somos/son=it is used for refer to characteristics, characteristics of persons, never used for objects (only "son" can be used).
:)
