J'ai une question. Le noun animal becomes pluriel when referring to more than one.
I was told by my instructor to change the sentence to pluriel. ( Mettez les phrases au pluriel)
Exemple. Le chien est un animal amical. animal ends in aux in the pluriel form and so do amical. How would I've known of this? I know my ir, re, and er verbs, but animal or amical doesnt't end with none of the those verbs. I would assume to add an "s" to make the word pluriel because its masculine..
Thanks in advance

"animal" is a noun while "amical" (= friendly) is an adjective, so they have nothing to do with the verbs. ;)
About the plural, almost every word ending with -al becomes -aux. Le cheval => les cheveux, un idéal => des idéaux, etc. There are a few exceptions : un bal => des bals, le festival => les festivals, le carnaval => les carnavals.
So here your sentence becomes "Les chiens sont des animaux amicaux."
I hope it's clear. :)

En français, certains mots qui finissent par -al, ont un pluriel en aux. Ce sont des irréguliers que tu dois apprendre, il est impossible de les deviner.
Je te donne un site qui explique cela correctement, avec une liste http://www.logilangue.com/public/Site/clicGrammaire/Plur_Al.php
J'espère t'avoir aidé
