What does the word “though” mean and on which occasions can be used?
I'm a little confused about the word though. I hear it a lot of times in different sentences in different sequences. Thank you in advance! Have a great day everyone!

"though" adds a condition that is contrary to the main thought or contrary to expectations. (e.g., a negative to a positive or vice versa)
This is a great restaurant! It's expensive though. (great = good; expensive = bad)(contrary)
I invited him to come. He turned me down though. (invited = yes; turned me down = no)(contrary to expectations)
Though the road is smooth, it's a dangerous journey because the road winds through the mountains. (smooth = good; dangerous = bad)(contrary)
Though I've lived in this town for 10 years, I've never visited that famous downtown museum. (lived long = good; never visited = bad)(contrary to expectations)

Hi! What's your native language?
"Though", **not to be confused with "Through"*** is also a shortened version of "although" (pronounced Ahl-th-oh) and both can be used interchangeably.
"I'm going to the party, THOUGH I really don't want to."
Here you could also say....
"I'm going to the party, BUT I really don't want to"
"I'm going to the party, ALTHOUGH I really don't want to"
"I'm going to the party, HOWEVER, I really don't want to"
Its a way of pausing for reflection, or debate.
Hope this helps
