nothing or anything I have always doubts when I have to use the words " nothing" and "anything"; So could you tell me , please, if the following sentences are correct : -When I was a child , I lived with my parents in a small farm; they bred pigs, and each year, in automn they used to kill one of them . Pork was considered as a staple at that time. When people killed a pig, each part of the animal was used like the blood, the brain or even feet; farmers did not throw away anything .

Your use of anything is correct. There are one or two other things that would need to be changed for this to read perfectly. "Autumn," is the correct spelling of this season. We would usually say "pork was considered a staple (or to be a staple)," rather than *as* a staple. But your overall English, here, is excellent.

If you want to contrast the use of "nothing", your final text after the semicolon would be "farmers threw away nothing" or "farmers threw nothing away".

Thank you Mark.

My main two corrections would be "I always have doubts" at the start and 'Did not throw anything away.' at the end. There are a few others as well, but they're minor.
