Utilizing Pinyin in a useful strategy. Write the Pinyin of each character above, then cover up the Pinyin and try to read each character. If you cannot remember how it's pronounced, peek at the Pinyin. Keep doing this until you're able to consistently read the character without Pinyin. Just be careful not to become overly dependent on Pinyin. Some people unfortunately start using it so much that they forget Pinyin is supposed to be used to learn characters and not as a substitute for characters.
