I believe you are asking if the 2 phrases "despite its type" and "all kinds of something" can be used interchangeably? If so, can you give more context to the phrases? "Type," is a name given to similar things, yes. For example, a crocodile is a type of reptile, as is a snake. So crocodiles and snakes are both types of reptile. Are you happy that you know the meaning of "despite"?
