The difference
What's the difference between:
1.Great and Large?
2.Last as previous and last as final? How can I understand what meaning was used?

I think great is a degree beyond large much like how devastated is a degree beyond sad. Using the word great to describe something usually attaches an air of importance to it.
The "last of" something will always have the meaning of "final."
