How do you make relative clauses in Chinese?
How do you form sentences like this in Chinese?
The boy (that) I know is very tall.
The film (which/that) I saw wasn't very good.
The people who watched the film said it wasn't very good.
These are just examples of the kind of thing I mean, you don't have to refer to them or translate them directly.
Thank you!!

It is impassable in Chinese as I known.
Chinese has no relative clauses form.
If you really want do this.
I think you can only make in 2 sentences from your English thinking.
example:
The boy (that) I know is very tall. >>> The boy is very tall. I know that. >>>那男孩子很高,我認識他。
The film (which/that) I saw wasn't very good. >>>The film wasn't very good. I saw that.>>>那電影不是很好看,我看過。
The people who watched the film said it wasn't very good. >>> The people said it wasn't very good. The people watched the film. >>>那個人說它(電影)不是很好看,那個人看過那電影。
Because I learn the relative clauses in English in the reverse thinking.
Hope this will useful to you.

Hi Melissa,
The boy (that) I know is very tall.
我认识(I know) 的 (that)男孩(the boy)很高(is very tall)。
1, exchange positions "the boy" and"I know"
2, change "that"to "的" which has the similar function as that/which/who

Hi Melissa,
Maybe it is easier to put this way, there is no this kind of clause things in chinese.
We change the clause into something attributive or modifier something like that and put it in front plus "de".
Similar examples: 1. the coffee((which is) on the table. in chinese it would be : on the table of the coffee.(zhuo zi shang de kafei)
2. the girl sitting next to me. In chinese it would be: sitting next to me of the girl (zuo zai wo pang bian de zhe ge nv hair)
Hopefully you can understand what I am saying.
Cheers!

Hi, Melissa!
I hope these help:
我认识的那个男孩很高。 = The boy (that) I know is very tall. (Literally: I know *possessive particle* that boy very tall.)
我看过的那片电影不太好。 = The film (which/that) I saw wasn't very good. (Literally: I watch past *possessive particle* that movie not too good.)
看过那片电影的人说是不太好。 = The people who watched the film said it wasn't very good. (Literally: Watch past that movie *possessive particle* people say is not too good.)
In all three sentences, "that" remains a demonstrative pronoun and the possessive particle 的 is needed to separate the subject and verb from the object.
Please let me know if you still have questions =)
