The word "jerrycan" is used to describe the container for carrying gasoline/petrol and is shaped like the object in your picture. A jerrycan carries many quarts/liters of liquid. Otherwise, it's a plastic bottle. The word "jug" is usually limited to open containers (no cover) that are used for serving drinks like water or sangria. Jugs generally have a handle, too.

I would say water bottle and specify the capacity.
