Difference between: 아주 / 너무 / 정말 / 진짜 안녕하세요! I think I have a general understanding of 너무 (exaggerated "so, too"), 정말 ("really, truly, very") and 진짜 ("really, seriously"), but what exactly does 아주 mean in comparison to those? 고마워요! <3

너무 - excessively 아주 - very I would say 아주 is less than 너무. There isn't a very big contrast between these two words.

아주 corresponds to "very" while 너무 does to "too" or "so", as you said. In some contexts they are interchangeable, but not in others. For example: - 이 차는 아주 좋아 = 이 차는 너무 좋아 = This car is very/so nice. - 너무 아파서 회사에 못 갔어 = I was so sick that I couldn't go to work. (so ... that ... = -아/어(서)... -하다) - 다시 시작하기에는 너무 늦었어 = It is already too late to start over. (too ... to ... = -기에는 너무 ...) - 너무 많이 먹으면 배탈 난다 = You'll get sick if you eat too much (너무 as "too". 아주 will be unnatural) In the last three examples, "very" or 아주 will not create the same meaning. Like "very", 아주 lacks the sense of "excessively" (too) or "to such an extent" (so), so it can't be used in such contexts. The relationship between 아주 and 너무 are very much like that between "very" and "too" or "very" and "so".

All the Korean words you mentioned are very similar in meaning so in most contexts they're interchangeable.
