Humane Alternatives - I have only heard that phrase in reference to testing procedures that are not performed on animals. For example, to test if some chemical irritates the skin, instead of putting the chemical on an animal and waiting for results, they will find a different way to test the safety of the chemical - as to not have animals endure the tests.
