The sentence: In one of my wildest dreams, I hear the bark of army wolfhounds and the kicking of military boots on the front door of my grandfather's front door.

My professor said that "wildest dreams" mean unimagined, and she assumes that the scene described in the sentence is my imagination. Does her reason stand right?

"In your wildest dreams" refers to a positive thing not a negative thing.  Usually it refers to something good that happened that you never expected.  Example:   "Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined falling in love with such a perfect woman."  Here you DID find such a woman and you are very happy about it.

Your sentence is correct.  Each word has its literal meaning and so we cannot say it is wrong.  Your teacher was probably thinking of the expression "(not even/never etc.) in my wildest dreams" e.g. I would never become a ballet dancer, not even in my wildest dreams".  It means I would never consider this option.

If you changed your sentence to "one of my wilder dreams", then no one would confuse your sentence with the idiomatic usage.
