Are you trying to say that the movie takes scenes directly from the novel? Then it would be, "The movie adapted real scenes from the novel for audiences." "Restores' makes it seems like there are 2 separate movies based on this novel and that the 2nd movie included scenes from the novel the first didn't. Or, it could sound like there are 2 versions of the same movie and that the 2nd version included more scenes from the novel to make something more clear to the audience A good example for 'restores' would be from the animated movie "Beauty and the Beast" when it was first released in 1991, it didn't include the song "Human Again" however when they released it in 2001, they restored that song back into the film to make the time Belle spent at the castle more clear to audiences
