You mean men prefer "foolish" women? haha, that is sometime new to me :) Let's assume that men DO prefer foolish women, consider this: If a man had a foolish wife who didn't know how to use the hard earned money wisely, would he still feel right about his preference?

A friend said once "what a beautiful woman to have as a girlfriend" and I answered "yes, but you have to get to know her degree of foolishness. All OK on the bed but, what about the rest of the day?"... All men who were there agreed. We all men "dream" in someway with a slutty fool woman, but when it comes to reality nobody wants to stay with one for long. A woman who is intelligent (I mean not high degree studies but not a hair of fool), who can take well care of children, for example, is worth a while more.

Well I understood the question as: "why men prefer women who are less intelligent than they are themselves?" I don't think most that most men would prefer total bimbo. Ok old, half-senile rich billionaires with overactive libido seem to prefer big breasted, blonde, ex-strippers... But I think that many men don't have enough self-esteem to accept that their girlfriend or wife could be more intelligent and succesfull in her career than him. It's seems to often be too much for man to take that his wife could have few digits more in her yearly income than he has. Many men get really embarrashed, spitefull and jealous if their wife's adademic or career success outpaces their own. The same is if woman is "too smart for her own good". Yeah men like intelligent women but not if the woman is more intelligent than the man himself is. Of course some men manage to have enough self-esteem and are proud of their wife's success and and are supportive.

A bit off topic, but just differentiate self-esteem and self-aggrandizement. If you have low self-esteem, you don't feel good about yourself. you feel difficult to simply act confident and charismatic in trouble. this message is for zaina: i always try to behave myself, but sometimes it is really hard. i as a man, prefer you. not only you are intelligent but speak many languages and have opinions that are reasoned. what else can a man ask for? you are the woman i have been looking my whole life. i could be your man if you don't want me to be like you, i would like you not to be like me. the most intelligent a woman is the sexiest to me. i only see a problem, i am far older than you, so i don't have any expectations, although maybe this is what could be more advantageous to you, a partner in no direct competition in inmediate life. imagine making love in different languages, talking about philosophy while on it (no kidding, i tried before), etc etc. well, whatever it may seem, i swear i writte this the most respectously i can. for next life, i will ask the angels to match our time and place of newcoming, if you have any incovenient, please tell them as soon as possible to avoid future fustrations. in the meanwhile, sincerely best wishes to you.
