Hit: all of the below are examples of hitting. It means to forcefully come into contact with something. Generally a quick action of hitting/hurting something/someone with your hand or an object (Ex: "The computer hit the floor and broke." ; "Look, I have a bruise because you hit me so hard.")
Spank: hitting someone's butt with the palm of your hand. (Ex: "My mom spanked me as a child.")
Slap: hitting someone's face with the palm of your hand (Ex: "My girlfriend slapped me yesterday.")
Smack: Can be used as a general word for hitting. Fairly interchangeable with "Hit". (Ex: "My teacher smacked my hand because I spoke during class.)
Punch: to hit something with your fist. (Ex: "He punched the wall in anger.")
Flap: to move your arms like you are flying. (Ex: "The little boy flapped his arms like a bird.") Can also say something is "flapping in the wind" which usually refers to some sort of thin cloth blowing in the wind. (Ex: "The flag flapped in the wind.")

Spank is to beat someone as apunishment
Slap is when you hit someone in the face
Smack is very much like slap but can also mean when something hits someone or something hard
Punch is when you hit someone with your fist
Hit is any kind of impact between two things
Flap something else altogether. Like when a bird's wings move to help them fly
