The meaning of different Italian words!
Buonasera :)
I was going through some words when writing, and these came up as a bit of confusion, can someone help me clear my mind?
Giusto = "Right", "quite right" or "just"?
Telefonare = "To call"? Is this used instead of chiamare sometimes?
raffreddore = Is there any diffrence to "freddo"?
bugiardo = Both "liar" and "lying"?
Pure = "Also"? Google translate says even: "mashed potatoes"..?
Stato = "State" and "status"?
Thank you!!

Hello!
I will try to help you
Giusto = means only "correct", like when everything is ok, with no mistakes, or when you are agree with something and you consider it something right and correct. it's an adjective so it can be giustO for masculine nouns"un giusto lavoro" and giustA for female nouns "una cosa giusta"
Telefonare = yes, it means to call and it is a synonym to chiamare, BUT chiamare is also used in cases when you call someone just with your voice, when you shout :" Hey, Mike,come here" -> also chiamare
meanwhile telefonare refers only to your telephone call
Raffreddore = means a Flue, a cold, when you are sick! Freddo = means only cold, like adjective and noun, -30° C -> freddo :)))
Bugiardo = liar
Mentire =to lie
Púre = also
Puré = mashed potatoes :) it is stressed on the last letter
Stato = yes, it means both, 1)country 2) status and also 3)how do you feel, your state of mind BUT you should not confuse it with stato, participio of the verb to be ex:" sono stato qui" -> I've been here!
