“I am interested in it” vs "I have interest in it"? Which one is more common in English-speaking countries? What's the difference between them?

They are both the same and likely get equal use. But, it’s „I have AN interest in it“.

"I have an interest in it" doesn't sound as intense as " I'm interested in it"
