Some teenagers say "crush", but in my opinion using this word in the middle of a sentence in Portuguese sounds silly. I think "estou a fim de Fulano" (I have a crush on Fulano) is better.

Does anyone use "queda" or is that dead?

"I have a crush on XPTO" is something close to "Estou querendo ficar com XPTO" or "Tenho uma queda por XPTO". However, at least in Brazil and nowadays, of course just in informal conversations, I have heard my friends saying something like "XPTO é o meu crush" using the same word "crush". Good luck!

Nós não temos nenhuma palavra exata que signifique "enamorado". Se não é noivo nem namorado, a pessoa é apenas alguém com quem você está saindo. Mas você pode usar a expressão "ele é minha paquera". É aceito aqui no brasil e todos irão entender que não é um namorado. Mas o normal é você dizer "ele é alguém com quem estou saindo". Se ele estiver do seu lado e alguém peguntar: ele é o que seu? Você deve responder: "A gente está saindo". Ou "a gente está se conhecendo" A palavra "crush" é mais usada por adolescentes aqui no Brasil, já que é uma novidade na internet. I definitely hear my friends using the word "crush". It is a tendency widely spread among young people. Funny enough, I remember talking to one of my friends once about "the times before we started using the word crush"... For a moment there, we went like "wait a sec... What was it again?" then we realized we didn't actually used a particular word, but expressions. The ones like "to gostando de X", "to afim de Y"... The closest to a word similar to crush that comes to my mind know is "paixonite", but then again, I can't imagine anyone using it in a conversation these days.
