Why is there a '了‘ in this sentence? I was watching a cartoon programme in Chinese. The original English was 'Do you think I might try to eat you？' and it was translated as‘ 你觉得我会不会吃了你’。翻译者为什么加了一个‘了’？假如没有那个‘了’ 意思就是一样吗？在这种情况下‘吃了’就是‘吃光’的意思吗？你们能不能想出类似用‘了’的句子？谢谢大家的帮助

你觉得我会不会吃了你 ~= 你觉得我会不会把你吃了 Basically "le" marks a change of state. Here the speaker marks his/her intention to change the state. 你觉得我会不会吃/杀/砍了你 le makes the actions more vivid, though without it the sentences convey the same meanings.
