Wardaa's answer isn't quite right -- there's actually no situation where it would be correct to say "I made him a few calls." If you made calls on behalf of someone else, you could say "I made a few calls FOR him yesterday." The second part of Wardaa's answer is correct, though. If you want to say that you called someone a few times yesterday, then you should say exactly that: "I called him a few times yesterday." If you leave out the word "him," you can use the phrase "I made a few calls yesterday." The phrase "to make a call" is only used in cases where you aren't mentioning which person you were calling. If you want to specify the person who received the call, you have to say you "called someone" ("I called him," "I called the company"). You can say "I gave him a call," but this phrase implies that it was just a brief, casual phone call, so it doesn't really make sense to say "I gave him a few calls yesterday" (why would you make several brief and casual calls to the same person all in one day?).

That depends on what you intend to say. If you want to say that you made a few calls for someone yesterday then it's correct. However, if you intend to say that you called someone yesterday then it's wrong. The right way to say it would be "I called him a few times yesterday."
