Hi,
Can anyone explain to me about the sentence above?
is the phrase, 'to get away with' meaning to avoid or to go through?
If it varies depending on the situation, how would it be differentiated?

As far as I know, "get away with" means not being punished for something. For example, I succeeded in getting away with fines for blowing the red light.

"Get away with something" means
to manage to do something bad without being punished or criticized for it:
They have repeatedly broken the law and got away with it.
to do something successfully although it is not the best way of doing it:
Do you think we could get away with just one coat of paint on that wall?

It means that you are not punished for doing a crime or something wrong.
He could get away with murder....This is an idiom meaning :he is so cunning, that no-one would be able to catch him for murder.
