Using 些 In my student book I have the next dialogue: - 我身体不太好。天气太热了,不爱吃饭。 - 你多吃些水果,多喝水。 I have a question about part "你多吃些水果". It's translated as "Eat more fruits". But why is it word 些 here, if it means "a few"? I can understand it in the sentence 我想买些水果, but can't understand here.

你多吃些水果. Here 多 does not mean "many". It means "more often". It modifies the action of the verb, "eat". The precise translation is, "You need to eat more fruit often". So "些" here is equivalent to "more" in the English translation. Not everyone is as pedantic as I am for translation. This is why "translation" is a specialized skill which there are special schools for. You can't have misunderstandings at the UN or country to country relations.

“一些“ 是量词,常常省略成“些“。 当中国人说,"多吃些水果“, 意思是eat fruits often, and eat more.
