a lot better vs much better?
" I think jazz is rather interesting, but my friend insists that reggae is a lot better than jazz."
I'd say much better.
Is there any differences between them?
Thanks a lot.

In common usage there is no difference between the two - both are acting as adverbs modifying the adjective 'better'.
Some might argue that 'a lot' is more informal than 'much', but there is no difference in meaning in this context.
