Oftener or more often?
And do you pronounce "often" with "t"?

Hi Helena,
There is no such thing as "oftener". Unlike many comparative adjective that have an -er suffix, "often" is an adverb of frequency and is used with "more".
A few other examples:
More commonly, more frequently, more rarely.
In terms of pronunciation, there are two variants: either with or without the /t/ aspirated.

more often
It depends on the English dialect. Some people will say -offen- and some will say -often-.

more often is correct.
No, you do not pronounce the t in often. I should edit this and say I don't pronounce the t, and I know many people that don't. But some people do. I don't know if that is confusing or not. Which is the correct way? I don't know, but both are accepted.
Okay, last edit, I checked the dictionary because I became curious about this and both ways are correct: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/often
They don't pronounce the "t" in my region, but I think they do in upstate New York. Maybe. Any upstate New Yorkers here?

The right word is more often and the "t" is silent

What are aspirations in the Catholic Church?
In Christian piety, an ejaculation, sometimes known as ejaculatory prayer or aspiration, is "a short prayer, in which the mind is directed to God, on any emergency." “A sigh, a devout aspiration, a holy ejaculation, will oftener pierce the sky, and reach the ear of Omnipotence, than a long set exercise of prayer . . .”
