how do you understand this: "Faith is not belief. Belief is passive. Faith is active" What is the difference and how Faith can be active?

I think its simply like the following situation, you love your country so much, this is a beautiful faith, but you don't have the right beliefs to be courage to defend your country from any danger, for example a war between your country and other country, you love your country and have faith, but you eluded because your beliefe is so weak, you just wanna live...so i think belief should be more active than faith ( i don't recommend using the word passive ), finally i mean its not a big deal if a a wrong faith based on a right belief, but the otherwise, big problem i think.

For example, you might say that you believe in a God. To believe you do not have to do anything - you just know in your heart that it is so. To have faith you have to do something, you have to prove that you believe when there is no substantial proof. God comes to you one day and leads you to the edge of a cliff. He tells you to jump and that he will save you. If you jump, you will surely die. You might believe in God, you might even be an active church go-er and worship and pray everyday. You have belief but do you jump? If not, then you still believe in God (after all you saw him-he has to exist doesn't he?) but if you jump you have faith. You trust that God will save you even when every part of your body is screaming at you to run away back down the cliff...

I would interpret it to mean that if you are an active member of a church then you are seen by others to have faith.

sorry ms kayleigh but i guess this is another slogan that wants to make believe the maker is very intelligent. in this case: to believe you need to have faith or you have faith if you believe. no intention to be obscene but consider: drinking is active - you have to decide to drink - but pissing is passive - you can't help not to piss. you can create you own slogans: it is an easy job. not so easy that others will follow them or get interested on them.
