"live under the same roof as a woman" -> what is 'as' here?
I looked up a dictionary only not to find any answer I wanted. The 'as' seems to me to work like the preposition 'with', but all the entries for preposition 'as' don't describe corresponding explanations. Or I was just as thick as brick to catch it. You know, looking up an English dictionary is so much of time-consuming and frustrating process where you normally end up finding not so many things as a non-native.
Anyway, if it didn't work as a preposition, could it be a conjunction: "live under the same roof as a woman live"?

Live under the same roof as a woman is the same as :
I live under the same roof as my mother
My wife and I live under the same roof as our children
it just means to live in the same home (under the same roof).

Hi Dolco,
here AS means LIKE.
It means you and the woman live under the same roof. You live under the same roof like the woman.

Not necesarely, like means= as well as , in this case. So it works as an adverb, describing the verb "live".
If I say " You think like me" it means "You think in the same way as me". It doesn't mean you resemble me.

You are correct it means with a woman, not like a woman that is something completely different.
Unfortunately you have clicked the correct answer too soon. It is always best to wait before choosing the best answer. Because everybody makes genuine mistakes or misreads or misunderstands the question. No matter how good they may be at English. You live under the same roof, in the same house, room etc with a woman. "like a woman" implies you acted and behaved and dressed like a woman.
as = like in other sentences but not this one.
