Which sentence sounds right? Hi there, Could someone please tell me which sentence sounds right? 1. Manufacturing output has increased since we introduced the new technology. 2.Manufacturing output has been increasing since we introduced the new technology. I would like to say the output still continues increasing since then until now. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks, Nanako

Both 1 and 2 are grammatically correct, but they mean slightly different things. "Has increased" emphasizes the current result, where the output is now. "Has been increasing" focuses more on the process of change. If you want to talk about that change over time ("since then"), then use #2.

the 2nd sentence (present perfect continues ) indicates that the increasing still goes on

Number 2 sounds correct for what you want to say. To make it even more clear you could say "Manufacturing output increased when we introduced the new technology, and it continues increasing even today."
