"Lately she's been the first to respond me in our group chat." Does that sound natural? Is the phrasing correct? Does that sound like something a native speaker would say? edit: How would you say it? (as a native speaker) edit 2: What I mean by this is that whenever I ask anything in this group chat she is the first one to respond to me, but that's happening only lately.

Hi meu, You could say this several ways: Lately she's the first one to respond to me... Lately she's the first one to respond... You don't necessarily need to say "to me" unless you really want to put emphasis on the fact that lately she's the first that responds to you in the group chat. Whenever I say something like this, I always omit the "to me" or "to+indirect object" unless I specifically want to make a point. I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Best, Wenwei

hi Lately she's been the first one that responds to me in our group chat. Don't forget that after respond + to. Don't confuse respond with ask Respond + to+ pron Ask+ pron
