Ideally the British accent is the right start however it is acceptable in most countries to start English lesson in the accent most comfortable to the student and thereafter they will learn to see the difference from the original as they advance.

I learned English as a second language, and I'd suggest U.S. English is the easier to understand, specially when spoken slowly.

I prefer American Accent more than the others...While I think London Accent is pretty originally stylish.
