Your suggestion would be understood, but I think the simplest informal wording would be I need to plan my time better to ... I need to manage my time better so that I can both do my studying and (see my friends, have a social life) “Fixing the schedule” sounds more official. We need to fix the schedules so that the people arriving by bus don’t have to wait so long before the train leaves.
