I have two questions about the adjectives in this sentence... "Put your freshly salted steak in the freezer unwrapped on a rack over a paper-towel lined baking sheet for 45 minutes, right before you intend to cook." Q1. I think the "unwrapped" modifies the "your freshly salted steak", but if we're focusing on the grammar rules, then the "unwrapped" can also be described to modify the "the freezer", right? Q2. Is the "paper-towel lined" an adjective?

Q1: Yes, based on its position, this could be interpreted as noun-adjective [freezer unwrapped]. However, in this context, an unwrapped steak makes sense and an unwrapped freezer does not. Q2: Yes. "paper-towel lined" is a compound adjective. Further comments: The text "Put your freshly salted steak in the freezer ... " is correct and natural but awkward. Some editing improves the text. First edit - Change the sequence [1 - put the stack on a rack; 2 - put the rack in the freezer.] "Put your freshly salted steak unwrapped on a rack over a paper-towel lined baking sheet. Put everything in the freezer for 45 minutes, right before you intend to cook." Second edit - Reword "paper-towel lined baking sheet" "Put your freshly salted steak unwrapped on a rack over a baking sheet lined with a paper towel. Put everything in the freezer for 45 minutes, right before you intend to cook."

Q1. I think the "unwrapped" modifies the "your freshly salted steak", but if we're focusing on the grammar rules, then the "unwrapped" can also be described to modify the "the freezer", right? A1: unwrapped only modifies the steak. Technically you are right, it could mean the freezer is unwrapped on a rack. Sometimes you just have to use common sense and sometimes people don't think properly when they write and it turns out quite funny, like this. Q2. Is the "paper-towel lined" an adjective? A2: I would say yes because it is describing the rack, but there might be a better grammatical term for this. I'm not a big fan of learning the exact grammar for everything as I believe grammar can often create more confusion than it helps solve.
