Cyrillic Alphabet Characters in MS Word
Hello all,
I am new to the journey of learning the Russian language. I need some assistance in typing my responses please.
Does anyone know how to directly type Russian characters [Cyrillic] into MS Word? I know there are websites online to do this. But can someone provide assistance in how one would type these letters directly into MS Word? Appreciate the help. For those who have a western (qwerty) keyboard but whose native tongue is Russian, what do you do?

You can buy a set of transparent stickers with Russian letters and stick them on the buttons of your keyboard. The letters should be of another colour and shouldn't overlap English letters ideally.

If you keep learning Russian, you may buy a new keyboard.

Or do you mean there can be some virtual keyboard in the same window where you type?

Hello! I don't know to understand you right or not, but if you want to write something in another language you need to download a language pack https://itlab.am/ru/page/windows-10-kak-ustanovit-russkij-azyk-interfejsa (windows 10) https://prnt.sc/sgu2mz. 
Also for reference, the Russian language has windows-1251 encoding https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows-1251. 
That looks Russian keyboard http://study-ru.com/stickers/img/seraya1-big.gif.

First, you have to add Russian in Languages (in Settings). Once you've done that, in Windows, you usually switch languages with Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift.
