I understand that "he really suffers over money" means that the subject of money or thinking about money makes him feel stressed, anxious, and brings him a great deal of pain and worry.

But my question is if this expression is aplicable to another things, like food disorder, for example. Which implies that every time I have to eat I've been suffering over food. Is it correct?

First, your sentence, "every time I have to eat I've been suffering over food" should be all simple present for habitual action, "every time I have to eat I suffer over food"
An eating disorder implies that you have problems eating, so you could simply say
"he suffers from an eatiung disorder." Note suffer from, not suffer over
In your original example, suffers over money, a better choice might be agonizes over money.

"Suffer over food" doesn't sound natural at least not in the context that you put it. You might say that some countries might suffer over food because of the effects of the pandemic, or that some families might, but I'm not sure if it fits exactly the example you provided. You might also suffer over your pay, suffer over a period of time, suffer over a decision you take, etc. etc.

A tip: You can go to Google and type between quotation marks ("") any expression you want to check and then go to the "News" tab, where you can see how that expression is used in the news. Hope this helps.
