On my laptop keyboard the keystroke Shift + m creates the hamze character, but it places it after the letter rather than above it. How do I place above the letter?

Truth to be told: hamzeh is somehow being dropped from Farsi orthography over the past few years and there is a tendency to use a detached ی after the words instead of using hamzeh above it. So it’s common to write:
خانهی سفید
One of the reasons is the inconvenience in type writing!
