[She has] or [She is having] an opportunity?
Hello, everyone! :)

I'll be really happy if you can help me with the phrase "have an opportunity". Can we use it in Continuous tenses, e.g.:

1) She is having an opportunity to travel.
2) They were having an opportunity speak to him.
3) He has been having an opportunity to study English. etc.

No. You should you use “has” or “have”.

They have the opportunity. 
She has the opportunity.

“Having” is used more commonly when you are describing someone doing or eating something:

They are having fun. 
She is having dinner. 
He is having surgery.

1 and 2 seem good to me however number 3 feels a little strange.

For the sake of grammar, I wouldn't use ing in number 1 and 2. Number 3, I wouldn't use in any case.
