I would like to know which preposition I should use with the verb 'translate'.
FORM 1: to translate something AS something else
FORM 2: to translate something BY something else
Examples:

1.b) Be careful not to translate sympathetic BY 'simpático'.
2.a) The phrases "by foot" and "by horseback" are typically translated AS 'a pie' and 'a caballo'.
