Hello Rokr, First thing you have to have an idea, topic or an issue you want to address in your poem.It could range from a momentary inspiration by anything you see or like to a whole subject that you want to express your opinion, sentiments or resentments about. It could be a love poem,a haiku poem,a narrative one etc... Notice that there is no single poem writing rule. You could consider ryhming it or free verse it. Some poems have their own set of unique rules put by the poet and some have no rules. However creative language should be used when writing a poem.Including metaphors, double-entendres and lots of descriptions will enrich the texture of your poem and add to the aesthetics of the language used . Make sure your language is fresh and make sure your words mean what you mean. If you want to write ryhming poetry ,you might need help from an experienced writer of course. You might consider attending some workshops to learn writing poetry. If you want to improve your ability to write poems in general, read them. Read the type of poetry you want to write. Reading a lot is rewarding in giving you many ideas, descriptions, usages of expressions that you could partly use or extract new ideas from when forming your own poem. You can start by choosing a topic. Then look for all the words in that topic that rhyme. Then try to see if there are any sentences you can make that end in that word. Eg: I have been very happy all day Because everything keeps on going my way (Not very good, but gives you an idea of what I mean)

Yes you can learn English by writing poems. 1. Haiku. Haiku is a minimalist lyric form used in Japanese poetry. There are 17 syllables in lines of 5, 7 & 5 syllables. For example, here is a great interactive page teaching students how to write simple Haiku poems, using images of Australia. You can use similar images. . www.cap.nsw.edu.au/bb_site_intro/Stage2_Modules/Poetry/haiku.htm 2. The Sonnet Everyone should write at least one sonnet in a lifetime. Sonnets are fourteen-line poems. They exist in every line length, with every rhyme scheme www.writing-world.com/poetry/sonnet.shtml 3.Limericks Learn how to write a limerick poem, what is a limerick, limerick writing examples. Read submitted Limericks. www.poetryamerica.com/Limerick.asp 4. Free/ Blank verse poetry Blank Verse is unrhymed poetry, typically in iambic pentameter. www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/7452
