Do you speak more than Tagalog? I'm looking for native speakers who know other dialects. What is the difference between Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilokano or other dialects? Can you give me an example in a sentence? I would like to know how they differ from another....

hi Mabaet, "Why do you like to know?" (English) "Bakit gusto mo na malaman?" (Tagalog) "Apay kayat mo ma-amuan?" (Ilokano) just so you know, there are 10 major dialects and about 160 'minor' dialects are spoken here. most of our dialects were merely derived from austronesians and the mixture of other foreign language which I can conclude, resulting to different dialects. as our culture varies from one place to another, and so our dialects. My mother is Ilokana so I know how to speak their dialect but not my father's dialect which is Bikolano. "what is your name?" "ano ang pangalan mo?" "anya ti nagan mo?" "have you eaten?" "kumain ka na ba?" "nangan ka'n?" "where are you going?" "saan ka pupunta?" "papanam?" My wife is Waray (Eastern Visaya) but sometimes I get to know their dialect well. "good morning." "magandang umaga" (Tagalog) "na-imbag nga aldaw." (Ilokano) "ma-upay nga aga." (Waray) "are you coming (with me)?" "sasama ka?" (Tagalog) "umay ka?" "maupod kam?" :)
