there also are "hey nigga" and "wassup mazafaka" ))) when used by an African American, they mean "hi, dude" when used by not an African American, they are an insult ^_^

Gal is for girls only, Buddy is mainly for boys, pal is basically the same as friend, dude is usually for boys, but in surf culture it can be for girls, too. Some extras: Bro is for guys, like brother. Sometimes girls say "Hey girl" or girlie instead of gal. Some girls also use chica, which is spanish for girl. Some people say cuz, like cousin. That's for both genders. Some people say stud or dog for guys. Hope that helps!

all of these are informal ways of addressing a person. friend gal-only for girls buddy-is similar to friend pal-is similar to friend dude -usually for boys but sometimes either boys or girls. this is for American English. It is just another way of saying hey you to somebody I hope I helped you!
