There are several different ways people encourage sporting competitors in English, with the most common being to chant “go (name)" over and over again, or just the person’s or team’s name by itself. An expression that is somewhat similar to 加油,is “put your foot on it” (it meaning a car accelerator). This is sometimes used to encourage competitors in a running race, but might also be used when someone is annoyed with someone for moving too slowly when they should be hurrying.
