"Have a good one"?
When could "Have a good one" be used instead of "Have a good day/night"?
I have the impression that only men say this, but would it be strange if a woman said it?
Could anybody explain what good "one" they mean by this?
I hear this being said from time to time, and I just suddenly became curious about it :)
Thank you!

I often use this phrase when talking to customers, it is similar to saying "take care" I think and generally said as a parting or towards the end of a conversation.

We say this a lot in Australia. :)
Don't worry too much about "one" meaning something specific, it's deliberately general. It could be a good time, a good journey, a good day... whatever "one" you have, we just wish that it is good for you.

Have a good one - can refer to anything, not just the day.

Yes, women can say it too.
Normally "one" refers to day. This is just more informal than "Have a good day."
